Hair growth facts?

Hair grows faster in summer, or so I heard. You don't have to be outside, you aren't a plant. Hair stays healthiest when you trim it every 6 weeks or so. You shouldn't wash oily hair everyday, that I know. I don't think this has anything to do with growth. Over-dyeing hair can damage it, yes. Every 8 weeks or more is best.

My daughter has natural tight curls and she hasn't found a way to keep it straight, either. Straighteners only burn your hair if you constantly use them. A reverse perm, as I call it, will dry it out after a while. Just use LOTS of conditioner and deal with what God gave you.

Hair growth facts?

Every bodies hair grows differently regardless of being outside or not. My hair grows extremely fast and I almost never go outside in the sun.

Hair doesn't grow from the ends it grows from the root, so cutting it doesn't make it grow faster. Trimming is recommended because split ends can travel up the shaft and cause hair breakage.

Washing or not doesnt help it grow, washing to frequently for some people that don't produce a lot of oil can make hair dry and brittle.

Dyeing hair does damage it. It causes the hair shaft to open so that the dye particles can deposit themselves. When the dye wears away the shaft will be left open. Making it brittle and prone to breakage. Yes it does matter how much you dye it and what type of dye is used. There are some realativly gentle dyes available now.

You can try a relaxer to remove the wave/curl so that it will fall straighter. How well this works also depends on your hair. For some it works very well and holds for awhile, for others it doesn't last long at all.
